The situation

Professor at a medical faculty with 40+ peer-reviewed publications, h-index 28, and several independent media interviews. Wanted both a Dutch and English Wikipedia page, because international research is her primary focus.

The source base

Source matrix: 8 strong international publications with substantial citations, 3 national media interviews (NRC, Volkskrant, EW), 2 keynote lectures reviewed in specialist publications. Well above WP:NACADEMIC threshold.

The approach

Parallel track on nl.wiki and en.wiki by an editor active on both platforms. Biography built around research field and significant publications. English version prioritizes international research, Dutch version prioritizes Dutch context.

The result

Both pages placed within the same week. No editorial discussions. After 18 months still actively maintained with new publications by volunteer editors.

"The dual language version was what I needed. My American colleagues now find me on Wikipedia too — professionally that is more important than I had expected."— Professor, medical faculty
