When does an author qualify?
Multiple books at recognized publishers, plus substantive reviews in reputable media (literary supplements of NRC, Volkskrant, De Standaard, De Morgen, specialist magazines). A single self-published book is not enough.
What does work
Three or more books at reputable publishers, at least two substantive reviews, perhaps a literary prize or nomination. Appearance in literary programs or festivals.
What often does not work
Self-publishing without mainstream reception. A single debut without reviews. Books exclusively in niche professional publishers without broader media attention — this follows WP:NBOOK, Wikipedia's notability standard for authors. See who qualifies.
